I have always known these as Christmas Cookies, that may be because that’s the only time they are made in this household.
Ingredients
- 1.5 cups butter (3 sticks)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 12 teaspoons almond extract
- 4 cups sifted flour
- Colored sugar, optional
Directions
- Thoroughly cream butter and sugar.
- Add egg, vanilla and almond extract; beat well.
- Add sifted dry ingredients gradually to cream mixture, mixing to a smooth dough.
- Do not chill. Force enough through cookie press onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Sprinkle with colored sugar.
- Bake in 400 degrees oven for 7-8 minutes. Then cool.
